New Home of Gwinnett Stripers Baseball with Habersham Broadcasting

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Gwinnett Stripers have announced a new partnership with Habersham Broadcasting Company to stream all Stripers home and road games live on MyCountry993.com, the official website of My Country 99.3 WCON-FM.

The agreement unites two powerhouses of North Georgia, the Stripers, Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves based in Lawrenceville, and Habersham Broadcasting, a locally-owned company in Cornelia that operates both My Country 99.3 and 107.7 The Breeze. My Country 99.3 is one of the region’s largest radio signals with a reach of five million listeners across four states, and is also one of the longest running affiliates of the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

The Stripers will air exclusively on the My Country 99.3 web stream, which can be accessed by visiting MyCountry993.comGoStripers.com, and MiLB.com Gameday Audio. Fans can also get the live audio via the My Country mobile app, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and TuneIn Radio app.

“This partnership with Habersham Broadcasting Company allows us to bring Stripers baseball to fans not only across Georgia, but anywhere in the world,” said Stripers Vice President and General Manager Adam English. “The Stripers and Habersham share a vision for serving the local community and entertaining audiences through innovation. I’m excited to hear that first crack of the bat on MyCountry993.com on May 4.”

“We are thrilled to welcome the Gwinnett Stripers to the My Country family,” said Clayton Foster, Vice President of Operations for Habersham Broadcasting Company. “As the strongest Georgia signal in the Braves Radio Network, thousands of Braves fans across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia already know us for our Braves coverage on 99.3 FM and longstanding partnership with the hometown MLB team since the franchise moved to Atlanta in 1966. Now, we’re excited to take that partnership to the next level by streaming Stripers games on all of our digital platforms.”

The new “Voice of the Stripers” is Dave Lezotte, who enters his 10th year with Gwinnett and 22nd season in professional baseball in 2021. He replaces Tony Schiavone, who served as Gwinnett’s play-by-play broadcaster for the team’s first 11 years (2009-19) before moving on to other endeavors in 2020.

Lezotte spent seven seasons as the Stripers’ No. 2 play-by-play broadcaster behind Schiavone from 2013-19 and has been the team’s Media Relations Manager since 2012. On the air with Gwinnett, he has handled over 150 solo broadcasts, including the team’s playoff-clinching wins in 2016 and 2019. From 2013-14, he served as the color analyst during Gwinnett’s televised games. Lezotte’s prior broadcast experience includes six seasons with the Clinton LumberKings (Class-A Midwest League) from 2006-11.

The first broadcast of Gwinnett Stripers Baseball on MyCountry993.com is set for Tuesday, May 4 as the Stripers open the season in Charlotte at 7:04 p.m. ET. The Stripers’ home opener is Tuesday, May 11 vs. Louisville.

My Country 99.3 joins forces with Country icon Jo Dee Messina, local teen for Christmas charity effort

GRIFFIN, Ga. -- My Country is thrilled to join forces with '90s and 2000's Country icon, Jo Dee Messina and Sasha Horton, a Georgia teenager, to bring Christmas joy to hundreds of underprivileged children locally and around the world.

Sasha Horton is a 15-year-old from Griffin, born in a Ukranian orphange before being adopted by her parents and relocating to Georgia. Sasha is a recipient of Samaritan's Purse and their popular "Operation Christmas Child" campaign, which packs shoeboxes and sends to children around the world who otherwise would not be able to experience Christmas.

Now, she wants to pay it back -- trying to collect hundreds of shoeboxes full of Christmas gifts and raising thousands to cover the shipping cost. Her story caught Jo Dee Messina's eye and ours, too, which is why we're proud to join forces with the "Heads Carolina, Tails California" singer to help get the word out about this incredibly worthy cause.

The deadline for collections is November 24th and you can hear more about how you can get involved this Friday morning at 7:45am when Jo Dee and Sasha join Joel Williams on My Country 99.3.
